Dear Neighbors,
I want to wish each of you a very Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year. I hope your holiday season will be joyful, festive, and safe. It has been an honor to serve you in 2019, and I look forward to doing so again in 2020.
On Tuesday, January 28, Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn, Sen. Jason Isaacson, and I will host our first Town Hall Meeting of the new year. We will gather at 7 p.m. at the Ramsey County Library – Shoreview. With the 2020 Legislative Session set to kickoff February 11, this will be a great time to preview the issues we plan to work on at the Capitol, and to listen to input and answer questions from community members.
The event is nonpartisan, free to attend, and open to the public. We all deeply value your engagement, so I hope you can join us.

Pollinators are essential for food production and native plant populations to thrive. Unfortunately, as a result of increased pesticide use, destruction of habitat, and the effects of climate change, pollinator populations are in jeopardy. Minnesota’s state bee, the rusty patched bumble bee, is now an endangered species.
Under the state's new "Lawns to Legumes" program, you can apply for a grant to transform your lawn into a pollinator-friendly habitat. The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources has more information on the program here, as well as valuable resources we can all use next spring to make our lawns and gardens more pollinator-friendly.
If you’ve considered purchasing an electric vehicle, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is experimenting with an incentive. MnDOT’s three-year pilot program, part of the Pathways to Decarbonizing Transportation initiative, is aimed at getting more electric vehicles on the road in Minnesota by giving MnPASS toll credits to people who purchase or lease a new or used electric vehicle between November 1, 2019, and October 31, 2022. If you’re on the fence about purchasing or leasing an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid, this is an opportunity worth exploring. MnDOT has more information available here.
While the Legislature isn’t in session, I remain committed to making myself accessible to the community. During the interim, I host office hours every Wednesday and am available to meet at the Capitol, in the district, or on the phone. With the legislative session approaching, I’ll be expanding my office hours in January. To schedule a meeting, please call my office at 651-296-0141. Also, I hope to see you at our January 28th Town Hall Meeting.
It’s an honor to represent you at the Capitol, and again, Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Kelly Moller
State Representative
