Dear neighbors,
It’s been a busy two weeks since I was sworn in for my first term at the Minnesota House! Here’s what I’ve been up to.
Committee Hearings Begin
I’ll be the Vice Chair of the Energy and Climate Finance and Policy Division in addition to serving on Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy, State Government Finance, and Ways and Means. I’m excited to tackle climate change and move forward on clean energy, help shape the vision for our state budget and operations, and work to end mass incarceration!
A full hearing schedule and more information on these committees and others is available here.
Momentum Builds for Action on Climate Change
Dozens of people showed up for the first two hearings of the Energy and Climate Finance and Policy committee! Scientists from the University of Minnesota testified about the impact climate change has already had on our state, what’s yet to come, and solutions that will help us adapt and prevent further consequences.
Check out some of the coverage:
The scientists who testified also provided detailed notes and slides. These resources are available on the committee webpage.
New Leadership Role
I’m honored to have been elected an Assistant Majority Leader by my colleagues. We have an amazing team and are ready to get to work to deliver for Minnesotans!
