Date Change: Join Us for a Town Hall May 4

Thursday, April 24, 2025

Dear Neighbors,

Here in the Minnesota House, we’re putting together a new two-year budget for the state of Minnesota and are starting to pass budget bills off of the House Floor. As you may know, we have an equally divided House between Democrats and Republicans, so this isn’t easy work, and we will have to collaborate to get this done. But it’s an important responsibility, and Democrats are committed to giving more power to Minnesotans, not the ultrawealthy and large corporations, and doing what we can to protect our great state from the chaos coming from Donald Trump and his allies in D.C.

This work will involve potentially lengthy floor sessions at the Capitol, which means we need to reschedule our Senate District 61 Town Hall with Sen. Dibble and Rep. Jones – planned for Monday, April 30 – to Sunday, May 4 at 5 p.m. We will meet at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church (511 Groveland Ave) in the Border Chapel.

I’ve joined Democrats for a series of other town halls across the state, which have had unbelievable crowds. Minnesotans are fired up about the impacts of Donald Trump’s chaos on health care, the freedoms they are working to take away, and the harm to family budgets through increased costs due to reckless tariffs. Now, we’re excited to bring a conversation to our community. We look forward to seeing you there on May 4!

Sincerely,

Rep. Jamie Long
DFL Floor Leader, Minnesota House of Representatives
