Dear Neighbors,
The 2023 legislative session was one of the most transformational in state history. Lawmakers made historic investments in students, made significant progress in tackling climate change, protected reproductive rights, delivered numerous solutions to protect the economic security of working families, took overdue action to address gun violence, and so much more. Now, it’s time to look ahead to the challenges that still exist in our communities and the work ahead of us to build a better future for all Minnesotans.
Direct input, ideas, and feedback from you and your neighbors are vital to our success at the State Capitol. My colleagues and I invite you to take the Minnesota Values Project Survey. The survey features six short questions about your outlook on our state, as well as an opportunity to share a bit about your hopes, aspirations, challenges, and the priorities you’d like to see lawmakers emphasize next session.
In 2017, House DFLers developed the Minnesota Values Project as a partnership between Minnesotans and elected officials to create a shared vision for the future of our state. Since then, we’ve traveled across the state to have meaningful conversations with Minnesotans to hear their perspectives. As a direct result of this engagement in our democratic process, lawmakers were prepared to work collaboratively to deliver results for Minnesotans this past session. As we navigate the path ahead, we’re prepared to continue governing in a manner that’s effective and responsive to Minnesotans’ expectations.
Everyone in our state deserves the opportunity to succeed and thrive. With your input and buy-in – together – we can build a future where this vision is possible. Please take a few moments to take the Minnesota Values Project Survey. The 2024 session begins February 12, and as always, feel free to contact me directly with your viewpoints or if I can ever be of help.
It’s an honor to represent you.
Sincerely,
Rep. Jamie Long
Majority Leader, Minnesota House of Representatives
