St. Paul, MN - Today, House DFL Leader Melissa Hortman announced a bipartisan power-sharing agreement that will allow the Minnesota House to begin conducting business during today’s session at 3:30 pm. Rep. Jay Xiong (DFL-St. Paul) released the following statement:
“Democrats fought for and secured our biggest goal - a co-governing agreement that ensures Rep. Brad Tabke can serve the term to which he was elected, and prevents Republicans from throwing out an election in the future just because they don’t like the result. This compromise will allow us to continue the work making significant progress that doesn’t roll back critical lifelines for Eastsiders, like Paid Family and Medical Leave, driver’s licenses for all, key investments to support our underserved Eastside small businesses, free college tuition for families earning under $80K or less, earned sick and safe time, and more.”
