ST. PAUL — State Representative Spencer Igo, R-Wabana Township, issued the following statement regarding the release of the state's updated budget forecast which shows a $17.5 billion surplus:
“Once again, today’s updated budget forecast shows that your state government has over-collected from you, your family, and your neighbors,” said Igo. “We should prioritize policies that promote growth, make Minnesota more competitive, and return the surplus back to you through meaningful and permanent tax relief. While all of us deal with the impacts of historic levels of inflation, more money in your pockets and family budgets will help make things a little easier.”
