Dear Neighbors,
On Monday, the United Kingdom’s Education Secretary Gillian Keegan, announced that the British Government plans to issue nationwide guidance effectively banning the use of cell phones in schools. The new guidelines will be designed to allow students to bring their phones to school so they can be used on the journeys there and back, but they will not be allowed to use them during the school day.
Data continues to show the harmful impacts that cell phone use, especially in schools, has on students and there has been discussion in St. Paul about whether state government should be doing more to raise awareness about this.
With the U.K. making the move to suggest that all schools should ban cell phones, I wanted to reach out to get your thoughts on whether Minnesota should do something similar. Please click here to fill out a brief survey on the topic.
I want to hear directly from you on this important topic!
