HF 3555 (Rarick) State predatory offender system data collection and analysis required, and report required.

HF 4020 (Moller) Registration and verification process for individuals required to register as predatory offenders modified.

HF 4019 (Moller) Victim-identifying supporting documentation submitted by medical service provider to sexual assault exam payment program ensured to be classified private data, consistent definition of crime victim provided in statutes, and voluntary donation or gift excluded as collateral source for crime victim reimbursement.

*HF 1930 (Freiberg) End-of-life option established for terminally ill adults with a prognosis of six months or less, criminal penalties provided, data classified, reports required, immunity provided, and enforcement authorized.

*Discussion and In-Person Testimony on HF 1930 will be limited to the provisions of the bill that fall within the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee’s jurisdiction, Sections 13 and 14 of the bill related to criminal penalties.

Joint hearing with Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee

Topic: Gun violence and the impact on children.

HF 4300 (Becker-Finn) Standards for safe storage of firearms and criminal penalties established for failing to meet those standards.

HF 601 (Her) Lost and stolen firearms required to be reported promptly to law enforcement.

* Public Testimony was taken during the 2023 session. We will not be taking additional in-person testimony. Written testimony can still be submitted to the Committee Administrator.

Written Testimony: The deadline to submit written testimony will be 12pm, Feb. 28th. All written testimony must be submitted in a PDF document without clickable links. All testimony should be sent to ellen.mcdaniel@house.mn.gov.

The Joint Committee hearing on Feb. 29th will be a ticketed event. First come, first serve. The hearing will be broadcasted on the Minnesota House Live Webcast and Mobile Streaming. There will also be an overflow room.

This hearing will have remote testimony capability.

Immediately following the joint hearing, the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee will take action on the bills.
