The Final Stretch

Murphy 2

Friends and Neighbors,

As we head into the final days of this legislative session, we are likely to face a few more challenging bills. Already we've taken on Paid Family Medical Leave that will crush Minnesota small businesses. The Equal Rights Amendment is still on the table and Democrats will likely bring that back to the floor tonight or in the next few days.

It's important to remember we have had a good couple wins this weak including that protections for religious liberty were signed into law this week. This rightly returns protections for religious organizations to the Minnesota Human Rights Act.

Visitors to the Capitol

Murphy 1

I am grateful to the students and faculty of St. Henry's Area School for their visit to the State Capitol this week. Your enthusiasm and curiosity about our state's legislative process were truly inspiring. It was a pleasure to host such a bright and engaged group, and I hope the experience was both educational and memorable. Thank you for making the journey to be with us and for your dedication to learning about our government.

ALS Awareness Month

ALS Aweness

May is ALS Awareness Month and serves as a crucial platform to shed light on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Throughout this month, we unite to raise awareness about ALS, its impact on patients and families, and the urgent need for continued research and support services. It's a time to honor those living with ALS, remember those who have passed away from the disease, and rally support for finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure.
