Update from Rep. Tabke: The Final Weeks of Session

Monday, April 27, 2020

Tabke

Constitutionally, the Minnesota Legislature must adjourn no later than Monday, May 18, meaning that as of today there are only three full work weeks left. The majority of that time will be spent ensuring Minnesotans have the resources they need to weather COVID-19 and all the ways the virus will impact our way of life in the coming months.

Of the legislation Rep. Tabke is working on, two recent bills focus on Shakopee businesses, Valleyfair and Canterbury Park, and how the Minnesota Legislature can support them with their busiest months coming right around the corner. You can find the bill related to Valleyfair here, and the Canterbury Park bill will be introduced later this week.

We’ll do our best to keep you in the loop on the daily happenings for the Minnesota House, but you can also keep track of our legislative schedule here. Committee hearings will continue to take place virtually, with the livestreams and recordings availabout on the House Public Information’s Youtube Channel

The Minnesota House is expected to vote on the House Floor tomorrow, though no significant legislation is planned at this time. As with all things for the Minnesota Legislature, that could change quickly.

As we spend the remaining weeks of session addressing the needs of Minnesotans, what are yours? Always feel free to reach out with how COVID-19, or anything else, is impacting you and your neighbors. We’re here to help.
