St. Paul, MN - This morning, State Representative Brad Tabke (DFL - Shakopee) joined local leaders to break ground on a new pedestrian and bike bridge over Highway 169 in Shakopee. The bridge was a result of the 2020 Jobs & Local Projects bill, which invested $2 million into the project.
“Infrastructure is a long-term investment, and I’m proud we were able to take the first material steps in building this new pedestrian overpass,” said Rep. Tabke. “The state being a partner on these local projects is one of the best ways we can directly invest in the jobs and resources Shakopee deserves. I’m thankful for the combined efforts of state and local leaders on this, and I expect we’ll be able to deliver on more local infrastructure improvements this year.”
The bipartisan 2020 bill, supported by Rep. Tabke in his first term, included other local projects such as the McMahon Lake flood mitigation, household hazardous waste cleanup in Scott County, and improvements to the Highway 13/Dakota and Yosemite interchange.
