St. Paul, MN – Representative Brian Pfarr has written legislation to better define an educational proctor.
The bill, HF3345, determines an educational proctor must verify a student’s identity and process affidavits testifying that the student received no outside assistance with a course or test. The proctor must be 18 years old and may not be a friend or relative of the student or someone the student works with.
“Integrity in our education system includes that of students, teachers, administrators and proctors. By better defining who can be a proctor, we can ensure the reliability of our students and the accuracy of tests are not questioned,” Pfarr said.
The bill has been referred to the Commerce Finance and Policy Committee for review. Information on the bill can be found here.
