Representative Pfarr Statement on the November Budget Forecast Saint Paul, MN — This morning Minnesota Management and Budget released their November budget forecast for the upcoming and following biennium. Their report projects a 1.1 billion dollar decrease in the surplus compared to the last budget forecast as well as an over 5 billion dollar deficit in the 2028-29 budget. Representative Brian Pfarr (R – Le Sueur) followed up the report with this to say: “As Republicans warned last biennium, unrestrained government spending has consequences and we are now beginning to see those consequences on the horizon of this upcoming budget.” Said Representative Pfarr. “Minnesotans are already feeling the pressures of the increased taxes and fees from the last biennium's budget; they deserve a responsible state budget in the future. Last biennium's reckless spending is clearly unsustainable and I hope the upcoming legislator will respond appropriately to this budget forecast.” ### |
