Minnesota House Passes Bill Honoring Michael Gau Saint Paul, MN — Today the Minnesota House of Representatives passed HF 3437 on a vote of 115 to 17. This bill, co-authored by Representative Brian Pfarr (R – Le Sueur), designates the U.S. Highway 169 bridge at Highway 9 as the Michael Gau Memorial Bridge in honor of the dedicated public servant. “Michael was a dedicated public servant with 14 years of service at the Minnesota Highway Department and an astonishing 23 years volunteering on the Belle Plaine Fire Department. Over the years he has served countless Minnesotans providing safe roads to travel on and protecting those in what can be the most vulnerable moment facing a catastrophic fire.” Said Rep. Pfarr. “Colleagues from all walks of life have shared memories of their times working together and the laughs they shared. Michael was dedicated to serving his community, a value that he passed on to his son who now serves our country in the armed forces. Stewardship to others is at the core of who Michael was and I am honored to co-author this bill recognizing him as it now heads to the Senate and then the Governor.” ### |
