St. Paul, MN – In response to so many violent and criminal protesters being bailed out of jail from network organizations, backed by nonresidents, Representative Brian Pfarr has signed on to H.F. 4252. This legislation would restrict nonprofits, such as the Minnesota Freedom Fund, from registering in the state of Minnesota for the purposes of paying a person’s bail.
“Bail is about holding the criminal somewhat accountable for their actions,” Pfarr said. “When an organization foots the bill for criminal behavior, the criminal has zero consequences and is able to freely offend again.”
In 2020, the Minnesota Freedom Fund, backed by donations from now Vice President Kamala Harris and Seth Rogan, provided $10 million in criminal bail money to approximately 610 Minnesotans. Of those, several re-offended, some with more violent crimes.
