Rep. Jess Hanson Welcomes House Capital Investment Committee to Savage & Burnsville, Advocates for Funding for Local Projects
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Yesterday, Representative Jess Hanson (DFL– Burnsville) hosted the House Capital Investment Committee during their 2023 Bonding Tour as they stopped in Savage and Burnsville.
The committee is touring sites for proposed capital investment throughout the state. The City of Savage is seeking funding for the ongoing expansion and reconstruction of the Quentin Avenue Bridge to relieve congestion and high traffic in the area. The City of Burnsville is asking the legislature for funding to rehabilitate its water treatment plant.
Representative Jess Hanson released the following statement following the Capital Investment Committee’s visit:
“Since I was first elected, I have been dedicated to working with our local partners in Savage and Burnsville to pass legislation to improve constituents’ lives.
“Last session, I was proud to secure funding for Savage to start the first phase of the Quentin Ave Bridge project, and I will continue to advocate for this project going forward to improve our infrastructure and public safety in the region.
“I am also glad to support the City of Burnsville in their request for rehabilitating our water treatment plant. We must ensure safe, clean, drinking water for our whole community. I look forward to working to fund both of these important infrastructure priorities during the 2024 session.”
In 2023, Representative Hanson secured $800,000 in funding for the predesign and design of an expansion of Quentin Avenue Bridge in Savage. It passed as part of that year’s bipartisan capital investment bill.
