Legislative Update

Dear Neighbors,

It’s been another busy week here at the capitol. This week we introduced house files 1-10 which focus on stopping the fraud and making Minnesota affordable again.

One of the House Republicans goals this session is an all of the above energy bill lift to repeal the “2040 bill” or “Blackout” bill that was instated by the Walz administration. The “Blackout” bill will severely limit energy and will have devastating impacts long term. The “Blackout” bill will raise energy costs and cause widespread blackouts, which would be detrimental during the winter months. We’re already seeing the impacts of their “Blackout” bill with Xcel Energy requesting to increase monthly rates by 9.6% in 2025 due to the increased costs associated with meeting the Walz administrations clean energy standards. The House Republicans introduced House File 9 which lifts Minnesota’s nuclear power ban and expands the tax exemption on natural gas and electric residential heat to help save Minnesota families money. I am focused on safety and will continue to work to bring down costs.

I also continue to fight for the rights of the unborn. This past weekend on January 19th I was at Wadena’s first annual March for Life. I was also at the Minnesotans Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) rally which was held at the capitol Wednesday January 22nd.

Myself and all the other House Republicans are showing up everyday doing the job our constituents elected us to do. I will continue to follow the laws and show up to work.
