House members pre-filed more than 200 bills before a noon Thursday deadline.
The 234 bills — filed under House rule 1.14 allowing for bill introductions between the final day of the regular session in an odd-numbered year and the first day of the regular session in an even–numbered year — will be formally introduced when the Legislature convenes March 8.

Lawmakers will work on a tight timeline during the 2016 session, with less than 11 weeks between its scheduled early March start and the constitutional adjournment date of May 23. The first committee deadline for hearing bills is April 1.
