Friends,
On Tuesday, I joined my fellow legislators to take the oath of office in the House Chamber. I'm grateful to return to the legislature and continue serving the residents of Northern Minnesota. I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues to look for ways to reduce the costs of health care, improve our state's economy, and focus on the priorities of Minnesotans across the state.
The Pioneer Press captured this photo from the swearing-in ceremony and
used it on the front page of their paper the following day
This biennium, I will serve on the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance & Policy Division, Capital Investment Division, Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division, and Veterans and Military Affairs Finance & Policy Division.
New Laws in Effect
In addition to the beginning of a new calendar year, January 1 brought our state some new laws. On January 1, 2019, a handful of laws passed during the 2018 legislative session went into effect. These new laws address various issues, including reinsurance organizations, identity theft, PTSD for public safety personnel, waste collection systems, MA reimbursement rates, and step therapy.
If you’d like to see a full list of the new laws that took effect on January 1, please click on the following link: https://www.house.mn/hinfo/leginfo/0119nlrelease.pdf.
Please continue to stay in touch to share your thoughts or concerns. My phone number is 651-296-4265 or you can email me at rep.matt.grossell@house.mn.
Have a great week and God Bless!
Matt
