Rep. Matt Grossell Responds to Attempted Assassination of President Trump

Saint Paul, MN — This past weekend a would-be assassin attempted to change the trajectory of American history forever by firing on President Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The assassination attempt left President Trump injured, two in critical condition, and one father and husband dead. Representative Matt Grossell (R – Clearbrook) had the following to say on the assassination attempt:

“I was shocked to receive the news Saturday evening that there had been an attempted assassination of President Trump.” Said Rep. Grossell. “My prayers are with President Trump, those injured and killed, their families, and all those who had to experience this heinous act. It is unimaginable that in a nation built on the ideals of representative democracy a single person could try to take away the voice of millions of Americans who support and vote for President Trump.”

“We must remember that the American Experiment is built on the rights of individuals to assemble peacefully and to freely disagree. An American hero, Corey Comperatore, is dead because that vision of a shining city upon a hill was lost during this senseless act of violence. I pray our nation can come together to remember that we are all a part of this experiment in self-governance and we must all work towards the success of our great nation no matter what sides of any aisle we find ourselves upon. God bless President Trump, God bless you all, and God bless our nation."

“Fight, Fight, Fight!”
