St. Paul, MN – Representative Matt Grossell (R-Clearbrook) is maintaining his commitment to prosecute those who prey on children by authoring legislation that would place mandatory minimum penalties for creating, distributing, receiving, and possessing sexually explicit materials involving children.
“Protecting children is my highest priority while I am your representative,” Grossell said. “Those who prey on and violate children must be penalized to the highest degree for their crimes.”
In HF 3881, anyone who creates pornographic work involving a child will be sentenced to no less than 10 years and no more than 25 years in prison, and a fine of up to $20,000.
Those with previous convictions for sex offenses will be imprisoned for no less than 15 years, and no more than 30 years, and be fined up to $40,000. In other words, these predators would receive the punishment they deserve.
