Legislative UpdateFriends, It's been a very busy March here at the Capitol. We are officially halfway through session and we have been very busy in committees and meetings. This week I introduced a bill to ban “EZ Pass”. It is as much of a scam as the message below. Let’s stop forcing everyday Minnesotans to fork over even more of their paycheck just to use a lane they already helped pay for. Click here to watch the Kare 11 newsclip on my proposed EZ Pass legislation. ![]()
Human trafficking has been running rampant in the United States and right here in Minnesota. That's why I introduced a plan to give $4.5 million to the human trafficking task force. We must keep Minnesotans and our communities safe. ![]()
In this video, I highlight the absurdity of some of the Minnesota Department of Education’s (MDE) spending decisions. We recently discovered 157 "consultant 3" positions listed as full-time employees, yet we couldn’t get a clear answer on what they actually do. Now, MDE is requesting another full-time employee with a $147,000 salary—just to oversee milk distribution—while our schools are experiencing record-high teacher layoffs. Superintendents and school board members tell me they struggle to get in touch with MDE because many employees are still working remotely. Instead of adding more bureaucracy, we should be focusing on real solutions that actually support our schools, teachers, and students. ![]() For being the so-called “Education Governor”, Walz sure is horrible at funding and overseeing education. This week I spoke at AMSD/MASA Region 9 Day at the Capitol, to advocate for our students and our schools. More than 170 members of AMSD turned out. St. Paul politicians and bureaucrats in MDE boardrooms have gotten into the habit of thinking they know better than our educators. It’s time we change that. To all our educators who are inspiring the next generation of leaders, Thank you! ![]()
Transparency and accountability matter! Excited to see MPR covering my bill to improve government efficiency and ethics. This commission will give independent oversight over politicians like myself—because taxpayers deserve better! Check out the article below and let me know your thoughts. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2025/03/26/minnesota-doge-government-efficiency-agency-proposed |
